Tea Road with 10000 Miles:The Sino-Russian Tea Trade and the Northern Grassland Silk Road in the Qing Dynasty

Abstract: The Silk Road was an important way between ancient China and the the world,and the northern grassland silk road was one of the key routes.In the Qing Dynasty,tea played an increasing role in the economic activities along the silk road on the northern steppes.It was one of the major commodities exported by China to Russia and formed an important international trade route—“Wan Li Cha Dao”(Tea Road with 10,000 miles).“Wan Li Cha Dao” also became a new stage in the development of the Silk Road on the northern grassland at this period,which greatly promoted the exchanges and interactions between China and its neighboring countries.Even today,under the background of “the Belt and Road”initiative proposed by the state,the study of“Wan Li Cha Dao”undoubtedly has important historical research and practical reference significance.
