Abstract: In the 1930s and 1940s,a group of Marxists and advanced intellectuals launched the “academic Sinicization movement” in the ideological and cultural field. As an early practitioner of Marxism,JI Wenfu systematically analyzed the shortcomings of previous cultural activities,and took “academic Sinicization” as the idea,and took modernization,popularization and nationalization as the specific path of “academic Sinicization” practice. Among them,“modernization” proposes the cultural development direction of “Chinese and Western integration” based on the reflection of the previous cultural direction;“popularization” emphasizes arousing the public to action and awakening the public's consciousness of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression by academic popularization;and “nationalization” “based on the reality” treats the traditional culture with the perspective of dialectical and development under the situation of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The three aspects which are complementary and integrated together constitute JI Wenfu's ideological context of “academic Sinicization”.
