Abstract: “West-centered theory” in the field of world history is a dominant view of world history that first arose in Europe in the 18th century and has influenced the international academia since the 19th century.As an academic viewpoint and research perspective, “west-centered theory” evolved into a form of academic fundamentalism, ethnocentrism, ideology and even political correctness.This view of history later has had a deep-rooted influence on philosophy and social sciences throughout the world.This article, taking the four stages of the evolution of the overall power contrast between the East and the West since modern times as a macro-historical clue, argues that the “west-centered theory” actually lacks historical basis.In this paper, the “orientality” and the “three systems” of world history have deeply been considered.We should continue to push forward the deconstruction of the “west-centered theory”, step by step, and work for a long time.We should focus on exploring the Chinese elements and Chinese connotation in the construction of the “three systems” of world history.The oriental factors in the construction of the discipline system of world history should be studied deeply.We should deeply examine the academic influence of the convergence of the great changes in the millennium and the great changes not seen in the century, and strive to open up the “three new aspects” in academic research.The author also puts forward some ideas on how to construct the “three systems” of world history.The article holds that it is incumbent on Chinese academia to insist on the “east-west balance theory” and the “global holism theory”, to establish the “three systems” of world history which are objective and scientific, balanced and inclusive.
