The Anxiety of Cultural Heterogeneity:A Transcultural Perspective

Abstract: The anxiety of cultural heterogeneity needs to be deliberated as an efficient cause in Transcultural Studies,which investigates the laws of cross-cultural contact between ours' and the others'.The anxiety of cultural heterogeneity always arises when the cultural commonality worship reaches a desperate situation,and it is a deep worry and concern about cultural differences,including heterogeneous factors,differences between our culture and other cultures,and the reverse transformation of orthodox aspects within our culture.In Transcultural Studies,the anxiety of cultural heterogeneity can be summarized as the following laws.Firstly,the anxiety of heterogeneity indicating the concern about cultural differences has become one of the subject's main regulations.Secondly,the anxiety of oneself means that for us,as the subjects,the concern of cultural heterogeneity will consciously be internalized into physical and mental self-regulation at last.Thirdly,in terms of the priority of anxiety,it is the contention that the anxiety of cultural heterogeneity and of one's own cultivation could be beheld as the top priority by individuals and even have precedence over all the other aspects.Lastly,the anxiety of bizarreness mentions the special concern about the bizarrerie in our culture and in other cultures.Numerous Chinese and foreign literary and artistic texts have been generated in the anxiety of cultural heterogeneity.A proactive conversion of various elements of other cultures into positive force in our culture's transformation is the wisdom path to cultural rejuvenation.
