The Development Mechanism and Educational Practice Logic of Inter-disciplines in Colleges and Universities:An Analytical Perspective Based on the Chaos Theory

Abstract: Inter-disciplines in colleges and universities are the product of human cognitive development and the complex social needs. As the undertaker of the three functions of talent training,scientific research and social services,colleges and universities are the most important field of interdisciplinary education practice. From the system view,based on the chaos theory,the mechanism of interdisciplinary development in colleges and universities can be explained as three aspects:Based on the “initial value sensitivity”,it is necessary to attach importance to the status of conventional disciplines and give consideration to both foundation consolidation and pioneering innovation;Based on “non-equilibrium and non-linearity”,it is necessary to break the regular trend of discipline development and focus on both practical application and research;Based on “fractal and self-organization”,it is necessary to follow the principle of discipline construction and have both branch bearing and decentralization. According to the above mechanism,interdisciplinary education in colleges and universities is still facing difficulties in curriculum design,teaching and research teachers and training methods. Therefore,we should grasp the triple logic in educational practice:Based on endogenous logic,the knowledge guarantee of curriculum integration should be constructed;The optimization and integration of teachers should be promoted with symbiotic logic as the key link;The positive interaction with social resources should be promoted with exogenous logic as the source.
