Abstract: As a quasi-agentiality technological form, artificial intelligence is propelling ecological civilization into a new stage of intelligent participation and human-machine co-construction.By encoding perceptual nature into “datafied nature”,AI raises the bar for ecological literacy and opens new avenues for ecological cultural innovation and the improvement of public environmental participation mechanisms. At the same time, the drawbacks of algorithmic bias,AI hallucinations, and systemic high energy consumption pose new challenges to the realization of ecological justice, the reliability of ecological decision-making,and the governance of ecological externalities. These issues are pushing the focus of technological ethics from ex-post evaluations—concerning how humans use technology—to ex-ante reflections on how humans design and supervise intelligent agents.Constructing a governance framework for artificial intelligence oriented toward green development is not only an urgent theoretical task for ecological civilization, but also an important opportunity for deepening human ecological rationality and reshaping human subjectivity.
Key words: artificial intelligence, ecological civilization, quasi-agentiality, datafied nature
