Abstract: In the historical evolution of the construction of Chinese concessive complex sentences, there are four kinds of schemata:unmarked schemata,single-sign schemata,frame-matching schemas, and subsequent clause mark schemata. The evolution process of these four schemas is restricted by factors such as the principle of chronological order, the principle of prominence, the centering principle of relational items, the cohesion of texts, and the assimilation of foreign languages.Based on the cognitive reference point of “out-of-expectation”,the speaker undergoes continuous subjective understanding, uses inter-sentence mark, clause mark, frame matching,follow-up clause mark, etc.and effectively configure the externalized psychological cognitive process, gradually form a new form-meaning pair.Throughout the evolution process, the semantic basis “out-of-expectation” as a constant runs through the evolution, forming different schemata under the action of different variables. The conception of the evolution model of the Chinese concessive complex sentence construction is helpful to deepen the understanding of the concessive complex sentences.
