The Sixty Years of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Monitoring in the United States: The Analysis and Implications of Its Monitoring Framework Development

Mental health monitoring is of great significance to the identification and promotion of mental health of children and adolescents,and is the focus of current education work in China.The mental health monitoring of children and adolescents started early and developed rapidly in the United States.In the 60 years from 1960 to now,it has gone through four stages:pre-monitoring stage,death and risk behavior monitoring stage,comprehensive mental health monitoring stage,and psychological neuroscience integration stage.Covering 11 monitoring projects,it has developed a more comprehensive monitoring framework.The monitoring framework contains rich indicators,which can be divided into two parts:mental health and the influencing factors of mental health.The mental health includes more than 60 indicators of mental disorders,emotional and behavioral problems,and positive mental health.The influencing factors of mental health include more than 50 kinds of risk and protective factors at individual,domestic,and social levels.At the same time,the monitoring tools are highly mature and the monitoring system is highly technological.The rich experience of the United States in this field provides good reference and inspiration for us China to improve the framework design over time,strengthen the depth and breadth of monitoring indicators and develop monitoring tools.

The Design of Labor Curriculum for Core Competency

Labor curriculum is one of the basic ways to implement labor education in the new era, and also an important measure to cultivate the core competency.The trends of international curriculum reform and development, the demands of cultivating students' labor competency in an all-round way in the new era, and the practical problems facing the school labor curriculum all require the development of labor curriculum design directed at the core competency.There are at least two approaches to the labor curriculum design oriented to core competency, namely direct guidance and indirect integration.The former one is the overall control approach.According to the overall framework of the core competency, the contribution of labor education in the core competency is clearly defined;subsequently the objectives and performance of the labor curriculum are formulated, so as to design the labor curriculum systematically.The latter one is a partial penetration approach which focuses on clarifying the correlation between core competency and labor education, and then penetrates into labor curriculum in a complementary form.A four-step framework is needed to implement the design of labor curriculum.It includes defining the connotation and elements of core competency for labor education, focusing on three fields to design labor education units, selecting the subjects and content of labor education around units, and optimizing labor curriculum through evaluation.

ChatGPT, which has sparked widespread discussion in academia, is not just a simple human-machine interaction program, but a new type of intelligence with the ability to deeply imitate human thinking.This forces us to re-understand the complex relationship between humanities and science beyond the “free will” of humanism.From the paradigmatic dimension, humanities scholarship is already an organic component of the scientific system, but from the ontological dimension, humanities scholarship always determines the fundamental attributes of science, thus producing an inherent role in guiding science.Therefore, no matter how AI evolves, it cannot replace humans in making moral judgments and assuming corresponding responsibilities, nor can it confirm human subjectivity and systematically explain and explore it.At best, it is only a revolutionary extension tool of “digital humanities”.Therefore, the real important problem is how to use generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT to further construct a “future paradigm” of human-machine collaboration for exploring the dynamic relationship between knowledge origins and different problem domains:“Classical Allusion Studies”.

The Model Housing in London in the Second Half of the 19th Century: A Case Study of Peabody Foundation's Apartment Program for the British Poor

In the process of urbanization in the British society in the 19th century, there was a disparity between the rich and poor in the cities, and there appeared slums and impoverished areas such as the East End of London.As a result, charitable organizations such as the Peabody Foundation have built model dwellings to improve the awful living conditions of the poor in London.For this reason, many Peabody Square dwellings have been built, and multi-storied apartment buildings and public spaces in the central courtyard have been created.These low-cost, austere and sturdy complete apartments have created a kind of economical and practical housing model for the poor in London.Without considering the national, religious and political attributes of the beneficiaries, this type of dwellings combines the function of apartment housing rights with social moral construction, and ensures the sustainability of the fund from the very beginning.Although in the Peabody Apartments, there are many flaws which have drawn criticism from functionality to appearance, its achievements in providing social housing for London's poor are obvious to all.

The digital economy has given new impetus to high-quality development.For micro enterprises,digitalization is an all-round key transformation and upgrading which puts forward higher requirements for human capital,changes their management processes and modes,and affects the technical support of production and operation,all of which are important factors affecting labor productivity.Digitalization can empower enterprises to improve their labor productivity,and its realization mechanism is that enterprises' digital transformation can improve labor productivity by promoting the upgrading of human capital structure,improving enterprise management efficiency and enhancing enterprise innovation ability.The impact of digital transformation on enterprise labor productivity is heterogeneous,which is more obvious mainly in non-state-owned enterprises,technology-intensive and capital-intensive enterprises,and enterprises in regions with a low marketization degree.

Examining the exchanges between Eastern and Western civilizations from a viewpoint of development and connection in the Silk Road study, Japanese scholars have proposed many helpful opinions such as “the Silk Road is a womb for world main cultures”, “Silk Road bears the seeking of doctrine”.They have emphasized the significance, role and value of civilization exchanges;they have explored the intersection between history and reality, and the links and interactions between different civilizations and regions;they have observed the evolution of everlasting exchanges that took place in oriental societies from an oriental historical perspective based on local materials.Japanese scholars' research on the Silk Road is extremely complex, with both relatively pure academic research and various efforts to serve practical policies.We should adopt a critical attitude to learn from the existing research achievements of the Japanese academia.We should not blindly imitate and worship them, nor should we adopt it in a Procrustean way.

Mr.YUAN Dunli, the pioneer of physical education in Beijing Normal University, is one of the main founders of modern physical education in China.Using a Chinese-style localized language with physical education characteristics, he explained the theory and the practice value of physical education in our country in the modern times, and made extraordinary contributions to our physical education.First, he proposed for the first time that the relationship between physical education and education should be unified and inseparable, and advocated the concept of “health first and education first” as the core goal of physical education.Second, he advocated that the all-round development of people should be the development of body and mind, promoted the advantages of naturalistic sports activities, and encouraged the integration of sports and education.At the present stage, it is of important enlightenment to explore YUAN Dunli's thoughts on physical education for promoting the high-quality development of Chinese physical education in the new era.

Community with a shared future for mankind is a great strategic idea to lead the trend of the times and plan the development of mankind, which has a profound philosophical foundation of “new materialism”.The “new materialism” founded by Marx takes “human society” as its foundation, which is fundamentally different from the old philosophy which starts from “civil society”.It has realized the transformation from the logical starting point of “abstract man” to “realistic man”, the innovation of thinking mode from “empirical intuition” to “materialist dialectical” and the transformation of realistic end-result from “false community” to “real community”.Relying on private ownership and interest exchanges, “civil society” accomplishes the collusion with the bourgeoisie, which promotes the intensification of contradictions and conflicts in the real society and the irregular change of hierarchical structure, promotes the disorderly expansion of the capitalist world market, and leads to the derivative of unjust communication relations and the overall imbalance of the world order structure.Starting from the philosophical foundation of “new materialism”, Community with a shared future for mankind has always been based on “human society”, demonstrating the theoretical characteristics of “new materialism” which seeks to “change the world”.It goes beyond the explanatory principles of the capitalist development model based on personal interests, and moves towards a “free man consortium” that is in line with the essence of human communication and based on common interests, achieving the dialectical unity of the theoretical logic of “new materialism” and the historical logic of modern civilization development.

In the era of artificial intelligence, higher-order thinking that is a core human quality that higher education should focus on cultivating, has four characteristics:active, systematic, comprehensive and interdisciplinary.Some factors, such as the current pan-entertainment network environment, growth and changes in the dissemination of information and knowledge, and one-sided compartmentalized education and teaching have interfered with the development of higher-order thinking.Higher education teaching should make proper use of artificial intelligence to activate the initiative of students' thinking development by coordinating between individual nearest development zone and long-term social requirement zone, to promote the systemic nature of students' thinking construction by balancing between context building and multiple evaluations, to boost the development of the students' comprehensive thinking abilities by psychologically and emotionally integrated education, and to realize the interdisciplinary nature of thinking development by scaling up the whole process of teaching according to the needs, so as to help students develop human higher-order thinking that is different from the artificial intelligence.

A Preliminary Study on the Deconstruction of “West-centered Theory” and the Construction of “Three Systems” in World History

“West-centered theory” in the field of world history is a dominant view of world history that first arose in Europe in the 18th century and has influenced the international academia since the 19th century.As an academic viewpoint and research perspective, “west-centered theory” evolved into a form of academic fundamentalism, ethnocentrism, ideology and even political correctness.This view of history later has had a deep-rooted influence on philosophy and social sciences throughout the world.This article, taking the four stages of the evolution of the overall power contrast between the East and the West since modern times as a macro-historical clue, argues that the “west-centered theory” actually lacks historical basis.In this paper, the “orientality” and the “three systems” of world history have deeply been considered.We should continue to push forward the deconstruction of the “west-centered theory”, step by step, and work for a long time.We should focus on exploring the Chinese elements and Chinese connotation in the construction of the “three systems” of world history.The oriental factors in the construction of the discipline system of world history should be studied deeply.We should deeply examine the academic influence of the convergence of the great changes in the millennium and the great changes not seen in the century, and strive to open up the “three new aspects” in academic research.The author also puts forward some ideas on how to construct the “three systems” of world history.The article holds that it is incumbent on Chinese academia to insist on the “east-west balance theory” and the “global holism theory”, to establish the “three systems” of world history which are objective and scientific, balanced and inclusive.

Digital intervention can provide efficient,low-cost and low-stigma mental health services. They can make up for the shortcomings of traditional mental health services and expand the borders of mental health services. Currently,digital intervention has been used to prevent and tackle multiple types of mental health problems. Taking post-traumatic stress disorder as an example,four forms of digital intervention,video telehealth intervention,internet-based intervention,virtual reality intervention and mobile application intervention,can improve the health status of population to a greater or lesser degree. Digital intervention provides the following insights for accelerating the development of mental health services in China:strengthening the research on cultural adaptation of digital intervention,focusing on the digital mental health of children and adolescents,evaluating the long-term effects of digital intervention and their mechanisms,reinforcing the supervision of the side effects of digital intervention and its ethical review,integrating digital intervention into the public health service system,and strengthening cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary cooperation.

A Qualitative Research on the Structure and Impact of the Personal Growth Initiative of Left-behind Children in Rural China

In the background of prolonged parent-child separation, the active personal growth of left-behind children is very important for their positive development.Based on the grounded theory, a semi-structured interview was conducted with 23 left-behind children, their 21 guardians and 18 teachers, and an open-ended questionnaire survey of 64 left-behind children was conducted, so as to investigate the structure and impact of the personal growth initiative (PGI) among left-behind children in rural China.Results have found that the personal growth initiative of left-behind children is composed of six skills:positively interpreting one's life, establishing one's goals and beliefs, relieving one's negative emotions, keeping good mentality, developing and using resources, and striving to improve oneself.It also brings growth discomfort to some of the children, while the personal growth initiative of left-behind children promotes the positive development of their cognition, emotion, motivation, ability, personality and behavior.It shows a double-edged sword effect.The results of this study have provided a reference for further strengthening educational intervention among left-behind children.

Medieval Scholars' Imitation Poems and the Canonization of Nineteen Ancient Poems

It is generally believed that the establishment of the classic status of Nineteen Ancient Poems started from The Selected Works.Since the emergence of the anonymous “ancient poetry” in the late Han Dynasty, its canonization process has gradually begun.The imitation poems by poets in the Six Dynasties fully reflect the highly enthusiastic acceptance of later generations, and also highlight their unshakable classic status from the side.In the process of successive simulations, the authors with diverse identities showed their wide participation.The imitation poems of the gentry class represented by LU Ji made a preliminary “construction” of its classical status.The imitation poems of the humble scholars such as TAO Yuanming, BAO Zhao deconstructed and derived the classics advocated by the gentry class.The integration of the gentry class and ordinary people in the Qi and Liang period led to the reconstruction and the production of group works.The classic journey of Nineteen Ancient Poems is a complex cycle of “construction-deconstruction-reconstruction”.The status of classics is constantly changing, and it is the product of the differentiation and adjustment of scholars as well as the game of many social and cultural forces.It should be of typical significance to explore the canonization of Nineteen Ancient Poem from the perspective of the imitation poems by the medieval scholars.

From Global Expansion to Digital Advancement:Cross-border Merger and Acquisition and Chinese Enterprise Digital Innovation

Cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) serves as a crucial pathway for driving corporate digital innovation. This study is based on the data from A-share listed companies between 2000 and 2021,and it empirically examines the impact of cross-border M&A on corporate digital innovation. It adopts a multidimensional heterogeneous analysis from the perspectives of countries and firms to explore the influencing mechanisms. The study reveals the following key findings:Firstly,cross-border M&A significantly promotes the level of digital innovation in Chinese enterprises. Secondly,for enterprises in non-EU and countries along the Belt and Road,cross-border M&A has a more pronounced role in enhancing digital innovation. Moreover,high-intelligence technology-based enterprises and state-owned enterprises engaging in cross-border M&A demonstrate a more positive impact on digital innovation. In addition,digital strategic awareness and strategic flexibility play a significant mediating role in the relationship between cross-border M&A and corporate digital innovation. Therefore,it is crucial to continue promoting high-level openness,encouraging companies to strengthen international cooperation in the digital economy through cross-border M&A,and facilitating high-quality development.

The Changing Characteristics and Driving Factors of Rural Household Education Expenditure in China

Using macro-statistical information and household micro-survey data,this paper examines the overall situation and distribution characteristics of household education expenditure in rural China from 2000 to 2020,and tests the driving factors affecting rural household education expenditure by using the unconditional quantile regression method.The results find that,in the past 20 years,the level of education expenditure of rural households has been continuously increasing,and the proportion of household education expenditure to total household consumption expenditure has fluctuated between 5.9% and 9.4%.Compared with urban households,the education expenditure of rural households is lower,but the proportion of household consumption is higher.The difference of education expenditure among rural households is expanding over time,and the proportion of household education expenditure to family income is increasing by income.Family income and family structure are the main driving factors affecting the education expenditure of rural households,and the influence degree shows a trend change over time.This is shown in the fact that the elasticity of education expenditure is decreasing with the increase of expenditure level,and the family investment in pre-school education continues to increase.

Compulsory Education Resource Input and Intergenerational Income Mobility

Education is a key factor in promoting intergenerational mobility,reducing social inequality and achieving common prosperity.This paper analyzes the impact of compulsory education resource input on the intergenerational income mobility in China.The results show that:Compulsory education resource input has a significant positive impact on intergenerational income mobility,and the education resource input impact of primary school is greater than that of junior middle school;The input of compulsory education resource has a significant positive impact on the intergenerational income mobility of the groups with agricultural Hukou,but has no impact on the groups with non-agricultural Hukou.The positive impact on the intergenerational income mobility of the post-80s birth cohort is greater than that of the post-90s birth cohort;Compulsory education resource input can promote intergenerational income mobility by reducing the influence of parents' income on children's schooling years and non-agricultural employment opportunities.It is supposed to continue to increase the input of educational resources in compulsory education,especially in the primary schools,which will help promote intergenerational income mobility,improve educational opportunity equity and narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas.

The rapid development of platform economy based on digital technology has formed competition and integration with the capital cycle dominated by financial capital.The core of digital platforms is traffic, while the core of financial activities is credit and expectations.The expansion and financialization of digital platforms driven by capital are based on flow, credit, and expectations.The credit mechanism in financialization promotes the realization of traffic, enhances valuation expectations through platform leverage, and realizes overvalues through credit expansion, further attracting users' attention and expanding traffic, forming a spiral of “traffic-credit-expectation”.The competitive convergence of platform expansion and financialization takes various forms:First, through monetization and capitalization, financialization realizes the valuation and realization of digital platform traffic;Second, with the help of internal flow micro-cycles, digital platforms extend credit to the entire social network and improve financialization;Finally, there is a full range of competition between digital platform expansion and its financialization regarding traffic, credit, and expectations.
