The contradictory movement theory of new quality productive forces and new production relations is the creative development of Marxist thoughts on productive forces and production relations in contemporary China's practice and the digital era, which expands and deepens Marxist political economy and embodies the latest practical results of the CPC's continuous exploration of the liberation and development of social productive forces. The contradictory movement between new quality productive forces and new production relations has objective materiality, social historicity, and dialectical unity. The status of new quality productive forces determines new production relations which in turn act on them. The development of new quality productive forces characterized by high technology, high efficiency and high quality inevitably requires the formation of new production relations that are compatible with them to promote the optimal allocation of laborers, labor materials and labor objects.Comprehensively deepening reform is an effective path to form this adaptive relationship. The new quality productive forces and new production relations are interdependent and mutually reinforced, which has become an important driving force to promote the construction of a modern industrial system,high-quality economic and social development, and the realization of Chinese path to modernization. The contradictory movement between new quality productive forces and new production relations is not only a theoretical innovation, but also an important guidance in practice, providing powerful support for solving problems and shaping new driving forces and advantages for development.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, particularly following the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,China's climate change policies and actions can be characterized by several key transformations:Policy objectives have shifted from singular environmental protection toward dual emphasis on ecological protection and low-carbon development.Emission reduction approaches have evolved from administrative mandates toward integrated market mechanisms and administrative measures.Policy frameworks have shifted from fragmented structures toward coordinated systems.Carbon accounting systems have advanced from incomplete methodologies toward precision-based approaches.Participating entities have expanded from government-led initiatives toward society-wide engagement. And international cooperation has progressed from active participation toward proactive leadership.China currently benefits from significant opportunities, including robust development of green industries and technological innovation, increased demand for green finance and investment, expanded green consumer market demand, and strengthened international climate cooperation.Simultaneously,China confronts a series of internal and external challenges, including incomplete governance systems, high carbon reduction costs, carbon accounting systems requiring further refinement, inequitable international emission reduction responsibility allocation, and increasingly stringent green trade barriers.Accordingly,China should enhance governance systems adapted to climate change, steadily advance carbon market and energy transition, accelerate low-carbon transformation of traditional industries, establish comprehensive and unified carbon accounting systems, promote the creation of fair and reasonable international emission reduction responsibility allocation mechanisms, and continue deepening global cooperation in the climate domain.

The values embodied in Chinese modernization provide a fundamental answer to the core question of “What kind of modernization is legitimate and worth pursuing”,serving as the “soul” among the “six defining perspectives” of Chinese modernization. These values comprise a comprehensive system:At its core lies the fundamental value of people-centered development, underpinned by essential values centered on common prosperity, coordinated development, harmonious coexistence, and peaceful development. This value system both reflects the common pursuits of modernization and possesses distinct Chinese characteristics. It derives its spiritual core from Marxism while carrying forward the root of fine traditional Chinese culture. It demonstrates contemporary China's confidence and self-reliance,while also charting the value orientation for a new form of human civilization. As China has increasingly been moving toward the center of the world stage,we must not only strengthen the construction of these values within Chinese modernization but also vigorously enhance their radiating influence. It is crucial to widely disseminate China's propositions, wisdom, and solutions.Leveraging the great achievements and inherent appeal of Chinese modernization,we aim to break the Western monopoly on discourse, foster a favorable international public opinion environment, and enhance the effectiveness of the global dissemination of the values underpinning Chinese modernization.

In recent years, the global academic labor market has exhibited a growing trend of precarious employment, characterized by the increasing number and proportion of precarious staff and the deepening bifurcation of academic labor within colleges and universities.Precarious staff, employed in short-term and uncertain labor relations, can be categorized based on job functions, contract duration, and employment arrangements. The global proliferation of precarious staff employment systems has created career challenges such as job insecurity, inequitable pay, marginalization and mental health risks, while also impeding the high-quality development of academic disciplines. This trend is deeply rooted in neoliberal logic and reflects structural issues, including imbalances in the academic labor market and the disconnection between doctoral education's career expectations and the realities of university employment practices. The global expansion of precarious academic employment and the pressing domestic need to reform China's university academic staff employment system highlight the urgency of institutional optimization.Coordinated efforts from doctoral graduates, university governance, and national policy are essential to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable academic career development environment.

Against the backdrop of intensifying technological competition and the ongoing implementation of the strategy to build an education powerhouse, science education,as the foundational pillar of the national innovation system, has increasingly become a key issue in educational reform.Collaborative efforts between universities and primary & secondary schools to advance science education not only facilitate early exposure to the spirit of science and systematic cultivation of inquiry skills but also reflect the extension of higher education's responsibilities and the restructuring of educational resources.International experience demonstrates that through institutional safeguards, resource integration, and cross-level collaboration, countries have generally promoted the continuous optimization of science education systems, establishing diverse practical models such as joint curriculum development, outreach activities, teachers' professional development, research collaboration, and mentor-led guidance, thereby systematically enhancing students' scientific literacy and inquiry capabilities.Based on China's actual conditions, efforts should be made to improve collaborative education mechanisms, establish a sound science education system, expand practical platform support, and promote universities' leading and driving role in science education,as well as their role in system construction,to lay a solid foundation for building a healthy ecosystem for the growth of outstanding innovative talents.

Yang Shoujing's Records of Book Collecting in Japan is an extremely special and highly academic and seminal document in the history of ancient Chinese literature. This book holds significant value for the current hotspots in the study of Chinese classics abroad, the general catalog of Chinese ancient books overseas, and the Global Collection of Chinese Classics Project. However, due to various reasons,a considerable number of the collation results have not been fully utilized at present, and one of the reasons is that this book has not been deeply collated. The publication of this book was carried out in a state where it had not yet been finalized, resulting in some technical errors that were largely overlooked by the academic community after its publication, thus affecting its use. These errors can be divided into three categories:First, individual leaves are misplaced, and second, individual leaves are missing. Both cases are obscured by the continuity of leaf codes in the center of the leaf.Third, there are also cases where the splicing of double-line small text annotations is misaligned due to the addition of texts.Only by delving deeply into the original texts can these errors be dug out and corrected.Meanwhile, the investigation of such errors can also provide reference for the in-depth collation of other ancient books. At present, artificial intelligence is flourishing, bringing infinite possibilities to the collation of ancient books, but it will also promote “pseudo-collation” and even “pseudo-annotation”.Advocating in-depth and even research-based collation can not only reduce “pseudo- collation”,but also lay a solid rather than superficial foundation for the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

In the history of modern Chinese literature and art,the revolutionary Literature and Art Popularization Movement led by the Communist Party of China steadily advanced through popular cultural fields. The representational practices, which are epitomized by Xingguo Folk Songs,of literary and artistic popularization in the Chinese Soviet Regions demonstrated three functional values (entertainment, mobilization, and pedagogy) and highlighted three theoretical qualities:people-centered nature, national character, and revolutionary essence.Yan'an literature and art comprehensively inherited the experiences of the literature and art in Chinese Soviet Regions, taking Yan'an Yangge as a pivotal vehicle to reform and innovate.Through the integration of intellectual elite and the worker-peasant masses,it established the developmental trajectory of people's literature and art, strengthened CPC's Mass Line, and further demonstrated its historical impetus to China's modern revolution.Reexamining the representational practice logic from Xingguo Folk Songs to Yan'an Yangge through the lens of popular cultural fields not only contributes to restoring and revealing the early formation of people's literature and art,but also facilitates a deeper understanding of the popularization of revolutionary literature and art.

The commonly held historical impression of Yao the Great,Shun the Great, and Yu the Great as successive rulers in ancient China,is the result of continuous selection, combination and construction. In early texts, particularly those from the Western Zhou period,Yu the Great was unrelated to Yao the Great and Shun the Great, and there were more records about Yu the Great. However, there were few early texts that mentioned Yao the Great and Shun the Great separately.Nevertheless, due to the Zhou people's emphasis on the ancient historical system of the Yu,Xia,Shang, and Zhou dynasties, the Yu and Xia dynasties were linked together, and Yao the Great and Shun the Great, were linked to Yu the Great. The Canon of Yao(Yao Dian) emerged in response, constructing a court of the Yu dynasty with a sage ruler and twenty-two virtuous ministers, inseparably binding Yao the Great,Shun the Great, and Yu the Great together and establishing them as part of the Confucian orthodox(Dao Tong),which was continuously reinforced in later times. At that time, the theory of abdication had not yet arisen, and contemporary texts also recognized the legitimacy of Qi's accession to the throne. Thus,Confucius said,“Tang and Yu resigned the throne to their worthy ministers. The sovereign of Xia and those of Yin and Zhou transmitted it to their sons. The principle of righteousness was the same in all the cases.” Additionally, narratives that disparaged Yu the Great, such as “When the disposal of the kingdom came to Yu the Great, his virtue was inferior to that of Yao the Great and Shun the Great”,had not yet appeared. In short, the relationship between Yao the Great,Shun the Great, and Yu the Great was constructed and did not emerge because of the abdication system(Shan Rang).

After the spread of Adam Smith's theories during the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, around the 1930s,the dissemination of the theories in China entered a new stage. The Commercial Press reprinted Yan Fu's translation of Yuanfu in nine volumes.More importantly, two new translations of The Wealth of Nations appeared, namely the vernacular translation by Guo Dali and Wang Yanan, and the abridged translation by Liu Guanghua. On the 160th anniversary of the publication of The Wealth of Nations, three special commemorative articles were published in the Shihuo magazine. At the same time, many scholars introduced and studied Smith's theories through papers and works (translations). The emergence of these related achievements indicates that Smith's ideas that had been expressed in the 18th century still received attention from the intellectual community in China around the 1930s.The dissemination of Smith's theories by the intellectual community not only promoted the development of modern economic thought in China, but also influenced people's thinking and actions about real economic issues.

The Confucian ethics, centered on benevolence (Ren),manifests at the political level as people-centered governance (Minben),aiming to achieve good governanceof the community through benevolent rule to ensure and promote the welfare of the people. However, the norms and order of a community inevitably require a personalized representation, which is political authority. From this perspective, the monarch is merely an intermediary and functional existence, whose legitimacy must be justified through their function.Rooted in people-centered governance,Confucianism seeks to“Yi Dao Shi Jun (以道事君)”and guiding sovereign power toward benefiting the populace, thereby taming authority for the public good.Consequently,it highly cherishes moral subjectivity, emphasizing resisting position with virtue and prioritizing obedience to “Dao” over the ruler.Simultaneously,Confucianism seeks to transform the ruler through“Dao”,aspiring to unify political and moral authority, culminating in the concept of “Shengwang(圣王)”.However, the concept of “Shengwang” risks undermining serving“Yi Dao Shi Jun”,revealing the tension between Confucianism and absolutist monarchy. In this sense, the context of modernity provides the possibility and theoretical space for Confucianism to transcend the tension of “dual subjectivity”.

The “buck-passing account of value” interprets value by reasons, providing an analyzable notion of value and revealing the fundamental role of reason in normative ethics. The criticisms it faces include three aspects:“providing reasons for approval attitude” does not fully equates to “valuable”;reasons may still need to be further explained by value;and the decisions on action lead by this account cannot balance duties and consequences well. The “Buck-passing account” was developed as a criticism of Moore's position, but the value it accounts for is not the intrinsic value that Moore used to guide the inference of reason, and the reasons it uses to explain value are not the normative reasons Moore derived from value. If we limit the value to be explained in the “buck-passing account” to the value of action, then we will be able to explain intrinsic value in terms of normative reasons. It may respond to Moore morevigorously.“Buck-passing account” for the value of action provides an explanation of how reasons canconfirm valuable action, offers reasons for action that need not be further reduced to value, and can balance consequences and duties through reason weighing in a concise manner. It can avoid various criticisms the “buck-passing account of value” is facing and provide effective guidance for action.

In response to the rise of “The End of Utopia” discourse and the obstacles to the development of his capitalist ecological critique,William Leiss drew on the essence of utopian ideas from works like Utopian Island,Bensalem, and The Land of Nowhere. He shifted his research focus to the field of science-fiction utopian critique. In The Herasaga,Leiss uses character portrayal to reveal and critique the anti-ecological nature of capitalism, while constructing the “Yucca Settlement” to depict and explore the ideal vision of harmonious coexistence between humanity, technology, and nature in an ecological socialist society.Leiss's main theoretical contributions to green utopian science fiction critique are twofold:First,he defends the theoretical value of utopian thought within the context of “The End of Utopia” discourse, imbuing it with the spirit of capitalist ecological critique.Second,in a world increasingly constrained by capitalist ideology,he challenges the dominant position of capitalist ideology through utopian science-fiction critique, further deepening the multidimensional critique of capitalism. However,in exploring solutions for capitalist technological transformation,Leiss fails to fully break free from the logic of capitalism, which constitutes a limitation of his green utopian science-fiction critical theory.

Public services play an important role in the development of digital economy.Digital transformation is not only the need of the times for the high-quality development of public services, but also a key measure to promote the high-quality development of public services.By constructing the evaluation index system for the digital economy and high-quality development of public services, using the provincial panel data from 2011 to 2023,this paper uses entropy method, coupling coordination model, spatial autocorrelation model and spatial Dubin model to explore the spatiotemporal pattern and influencing factors of the coupling coordinated development of the two.The results show that:In the time dimension, the coupling coordination degree of digital economy and high-quality development of public services is generally on the rise.In the spatial dimension, the coupling coordination degree of the two shows the decreasing laws of the eastern-central-western ladder. From the perspective of the type of coupling coordinated development,“mild imbalance-digital economy lag type” accounts for the highest proportion,“moderate imbalance-digital economy lag type” takes the second place, and “mild coordination-digital economy lag type” ranks third. From the perspective of spatial correlation of coupling coordination degree, there are significant positive spatial autocorrelation characteristics in the whole region, and the local spatial autocorrelation is dominated by “high-high” and “low-low” agglomeration. From the perspective of the influencing factors of coupling coordination degree, technological innovation, economic development, industrial structure, fiscal expenditure, urbanization and infrastructure all play a positive role in promoting the coupling coordinated development of the two systems. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the innovation-driven engine, innovate the integrated development paradigm, build a cross-regional coordinated development mechanism, improve the institutional guarantee system, and promote the mutual development of digital economy and public services.
